This 2-1/2 ft. perennial has one or more flower heads at the top of the unbranched, leafy stems. The lower and upper leaves are reduced in size, thus the best-developed leaves are in the middle of the stem. These are broadly lance-shaped. The ray flowers are lavender, surrounding the center, yellow disc flowers.
