Erect, leafy stems, growing in patches, with yellow flowers in upper leaf axils.
This Epilobium is unusual in the West with its flowers of yellow rather than red or pink. Shrubby Willowherb (E. suffruticosum), with smaller flowers, is found in the mountains of central Idaho, western Montana, and Wyoming.
