Soil Description: Well-drained soils. Sandy clay and caliche.
Conditions Comments: One of the wonderful cold hardy Texas native clumping cacti. For conservation reasons, seeds of this and other native cactus species should not be collected from wild-growing populations. Keep this cute, small, light golden yellow flowered cactus happy with minimal moisture in the growing season and on the dry side in winter or it will rot. Germinates well from fresh seed. It tends to grow in groups in nature and recovers slowly from damage.
