As a service to the public, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center collects information on native plant societies, conservation groups, governmental agencies, botanical gardens, arboreta, and other plant-related organizations throughout North America. Native Plant Focus: Barton Springs Edwards Aquifer

Description: The Barton Springs/Edwards Aquifer Conservation District (BS/EACD) was created in 1987 by the 70th Legislature with a directive to conserve, protect and enhance the groundwater resources of the Barton Springs segment of the aquifer. A confirmation election was held on August 8, 1987, with about 80 percent of the voters casting favorable ballots.
