As a service to the public, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center collects information on native plant societies, conservation groups, governmental agencies, botanical gardens, arboreta, and other plant-related organizations throughout North America. Native Plant Focus: BGCI works on an international scale to safeguard tens of thousands of plant species from extinction. The organization also raises awareness of the importance of plants, including native species, as one of the earth's greatest natural resources and the dependence of life on plant diversity.

Description: Botanic Gardens Conservation International is a worldwide membership organization established in 1987. Its mission is to build a global network for plant conservation. BGCI is the larges professional body that unites botanic gardens across the world, with more than 650 members in 115 countries.
