As a service to the public, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center collects information on native plant societies, conservation groups, governmental agencies, botanical gardens, arboreta, and other plant-related organizations throughout North America. Native Plant Focus: BGCI works on an international scale to safeguard tens of thousands of plant species from extinction. The organization also raises awareness of the importance of plants, including native species, as one of the earth's greatest natural resources and the dependence of life on plant diversity.
