As a service to the public, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center collects information on native plant societies, conservation groups, governmental agencies, botanical gardens, arboreta, and other plant-related organizations throughout North America. Virginia Native Plant GArden A recipient of The Garden Club of America 2003 Founders Fund Award, the 6-acre Virginia Native Plant Garden provides a unique opportunity to view several threatened and rapidly disappearing plant communities of the coastal plain of Virginia all surrounded by Lake Whitehurst which is a part of the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
