Abstract

Analyzes the effects of wetland canopies on microsites affecting seed germination of the invasive Phalaris arundinacea. Native species mixes included Gyceria striata. A canopy mixture of six species with a mixture of G. striata reduced germination of P. arundinacea to 1.9 percent. Germination declined in relation to increasing leaf width of the native species.
