Abstract

The potential use of Ischnodemus variegatus as a biological control for Hymenachne amplexicaulis in Florida was examined. Ischnodeus variegatus was able to develop completely on Hymenachne amplexicaulis and, on Paspalum repens, Panicum anceps and Thalia geniculuta. However I. variegatus survival, oviposition and density were all greatest on H. amplexicaulis.
