Abstract
Describes the floral morphology and pollination of Chamaecrista fasciculata. Results from an experimental pollination study showed that the rigid upper petal serves as a flight guide for pollination. Additional experiments revealed no difference in pollen distribution from the group of nine anthers versus the single deflexed anther. This suggests that the nine grouped anthers do not serve as "fodder anthers" as was previously thought.Suggested Citation
