Abstract
Sand culture and field experiments of the competitive ability of Helenium amarum found that this species grew better in the absence of competitors at low nutrient levels. The authors presume that in nature, H. amarum establishment and expansion depends upon the destruction or reduced competitive ability of interspecific competitors.Suggested Citation
