Abstract
Describes the distinguishing morphological characteristics of Sophora tomentosa, the type species of the genus. The species has buoyant seeds dispersed by ocean currents. Germination is hypogeal, leaves are exstipulate, and filaments are terete. Sophora tomentosa also has a terminal elongate inflorescence and a smooth-walled legume.Suggested Citation
