Abstract
Characterizes the tree island ecosystem of the southern Everglades in the context of changed hydrology. Quantifies the forest structure, litterfall, nutrient utilization, soil dynamics, and hydrologic properties of tree islands. Nitrogen use of the dominant tree species, Chrysobalanus icaco, is discussed.Suggested Citation
