Abstract
This meeting abstract describes research conducted to identify undesirable gene flow from Coreopsis tinctoria and C. leavenworthii. Under field conditions, pollen-mediated gene flow from C. tinctoria to C. leavenworthii decreased dramatically as planting distance between the two species increased from 5 to 300 ft. Planting the two species at an appropriate distance can be used to maintain the genetic integrity of each species.Suggested Citation
