Abstract

Establishes a method to propagate Juncus effusus using tissue culture. In vitro grown seedlings were cultured on Murashige and Skoog medium. Plants grown with cytokinins benzyladenine and 2-isopentenyladenine had the highest regeneration frequency. Adding charcoal to the rooting medium increased rooting percentages and reduced browning. Rooted plants had at least a 95% survival rate in the greenhouse.
