Seasonal Admissions Assistant
We are seeking friendly, customer service-oriented people to greet guests and get them started on their adventures at the Center. If you love people and have a hunch you could be a great ambassador for the Wildflower Center, we invite you to read on.
Greets guests and process admissions for the Center.
Assists with coordination of adult tour groups.
Answers queries from the public.
Promotes and sells Center memberships.
Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance.
Accurately enter and update visitor data.
Responsible for opening cashier window at start of shift/day and/or closing it at end of shift/day.
High school diploma or GED.
Two years of experience with cash register or point of sale (POS) equipment.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Customer service experience in a position that requires a high degree of accuracy.
Confident and outgoing customer service attitude.
Ability to work weekends and evenings as required. Additional hours may be available during peak periods and events.
Experience using a PC.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Experience in a box office setting with ticketing or POS system, preferably Altru.
Experience using a credit card machine.
Museum or public garden experience.
General knowledge of the outdoors, native plants, the Wildflower Center, Austin and The University of Texas at Austin.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and interact cooperatively with visitors and coworkers.
Demonstrated flexibility in regard to shifting priorities.
Works well with interruptions and can multitask.
Experience with detail-oriented procedures.
This position is temporary/seasonal, part time and benefits exempt.
