Habitat: Afternoon shade, in shallow borrow ditch. Alkaline soil. Big colony.

Description: Erect, single stalked annual from stout taproot, 65 cm tall. Stalk light-green, striate, internodes reddish. Leaves punctate, lanceolate, 3.5 x 10+ cm, petiolate, acute apically, rounded basally w/scattered, appresssed hairs (beneath). Ocrea eciliate, longer than wide, thin, brittle. Peduncle w/stalked glands. Infloresence terminal & lateral (immature).
