Habitat: Damp, alluvial, semi-shaded soil. Scattered among herbaceous plants.
Description: Erect, single stalked, suffrutescent perennial, 1+ m tall from stout, 12 cm taproot & many fiberous roots. Stalk 4 mm dia w/few ascending branches. Leaves (3-4) W=L, rhombic to lanceolate, finely serrate, short petiolate; stipules persistant, involuce-none. Peduncles axillary, solitary, shorter than subtending leaf. Calyx moderately accrescent. Carpels-10.
