Habitat: Over half shaded by taller Celtis, Ulmus & Cornus. Moist, alluvial soil.

Description: Erect, loosely branched shrub, about 4 m tall. Leaves obovate, acute apically, cuneate basally, short petioled, to 3x6 cm. Infloresence not present. Fruit a drupe, red, sub-spherical, 4+ x 5+ mm.
