Habitat: Dry, rocky hillside.

Description: 9 m tree. Leaves deciduous, scarlet in autumn, 11 cm long x 10 cm wide, obovate in outline, deeply 2, 3 or 4 lobed on each side with narrow rounded sinuses reaching .5-,9 the distance to the midrib.
