Habitat: Nearly level, vacant, undisturbed land. Thin, rocky soil. A few Quercus and Diospyros trees.
Description: Perennial. Culms slender, tufted, to 80 cm. Leaves dense basally and on lower part of culms. Panicles loosely flowered, to 20 cm long, curving at maturity. Glumes unequal. Lemma 10 cm to base of awns. Awns about 4-5 cm long, 3-parted in equal lengths.
