Habitat: In mixed grasses of sunny site. Deep, dark alkaline, relatively well drained soil.

Description: Stems/leaves dark green. Leaves clasping, thick, alternate. Stems jointed, much branched, sprawling to prostrate.Flowers from stem tips, horizontal to stem, thicker than Red Gramma,w/black, soon falling stamens.
