Richardson, Charmaine
Mrs. Charmaine Richardson is a descendant of Robert Sidney Young who brought his family to Cedar Valley, Texas (western Travis County) in 1871. All of the images she contributed were taken on RS Young Ranch, a portion of which is now called Buzzard Roost Ranch. This property was operated as a working ranch, with grain production and grazing by sheep, goats and cattle from the 1870’s until 1995. It then became a Wildlife Management Area and she and her husband Pat stepped up their nature exploring. These images show some of the species that have recovered naturally on the ranch in the years since grazing of domestic stock ceased. The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is committed to developing the premier resource for native plant images in North America through continued growth of the Plant Image Gallery. You can help us achieve our mission ...to increase the sustainable use and conservation of native wildflowers, plants, and landscapes... by becoming a contributor.
