Baker, Judith
Judith J. Baker first drew native plants on her 100 acres in northern east Texas (Hopkins County – Ecoregion 33a “Northern Post Oak Savanna”). When she moved further west to north central Texas (Bosque County – Ecoregion 29e “Limestone Cut Plain”), she was fascinated to find other native plants to draw in a very different type of landscape.Judith is a botanical artist who has earned her diploma in botanical illustration from the Society of Botanical Art (U.K.). Her work has been juried into both U.S. and international shows, and she has contributed illustrations to the Botanical Research Institute of Texas Press’s forthcoming Illustrated Flora of East Texas Volume 2.
She is a member of the American Society of Botanical Art along with various other art organizations. She also belongs to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, and the Native Prairies Association of Texas.
