Uhlmann, A. Michael

A. Michael Uhlmann is a native of Switzerland. Even as an elementary school student, he was an independent soul. In third or fourth grade, out of pure love of nature, young Michael got permission from his local community administration to clean trash and debris from a hidden creek he had discovered along his way to school. In middle school, he took up photography. While in high school his first published pictures appeared in newspapers and magazines.

For awhile, he studied computer science and economics. But turning side jobs into a career, he left school to become a news anchor at a local radio station and also started writing and photographing for newspapers and magazines full time. Years later, Michael moved to Texas as a foreign stringer, delivering news, interviews and photography to media back home. He later facilitated Texas music groups in getting exposure in Europe.

Now, Michael and his wife live on 17 acres seemingly in the middle of nowhere near Carlton, Texas, a ghost town in North Central Texas. Besides trying to capture nature, he still takes pictures for photo agencies and is an avid blogger. Uhlmann still consults artists and venue owners as a music business consultant. He also loves to cook and bake. Michael believes in renewable energies and intact ecosystems and knows that there is no “planet B.”
