Native Plants

Hagar, Donna
Donna Hagar considers herself a plant enthusiast. Her serious interest in plants began in earnest after moving to 50 acres in rural Somervell County in 2005. Donna began by wanting merely to identify all of the wildflowers on her property, but soon began expanding that passion to first the roads around her, and then all over the county! She began volunteering at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center and was quickly recruited to help on a 3-year grant project to study the flora before, during and after various methods of Ashe Juniper removal. As the project necessitated, Donna’s interest quickly grew well beyond wildflowers into all areas of plant life.
While photography itself is not a particular passion, photographing plants for ID purposes became critical for Donna. Fortunately, with high quality photos from cell phones, this process is an easy one!
The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is committed to developing the premier resource for native plant images in North America through continued growth of the Plant Image Gallery.
