Original Format: Digital Orientation: Portrait Shot: The base of a very large tree with the photographer next to it for scale. Photographer's note: "It is hard for me to believe that I could get to giant bald cypress trees today. Usually, by this time of the winter, the Altamaha River floodplain would be full of water and this area would be unreachable from land. It is still very very dry in central southeast Georgia. On my drive through the area, I noticed that most of the smaller stream are still dry. Ponds and borrow pits are also dry.
