Shot: A plant growing in a Southern Live Oak, Quercus virginiana. Photographer's note: "Golden polypody fern is rare and scattered along the Georgia coastal islands. Farther south the species primarily grows in the boots of Sabal palmetto. At this site on northern Cumberland Island, the golden polypody is growing on a centuries old Quercus virginiana."
