Shot: A flowering plant. Photographer's note: "Cockspur pricklypear cactus is a very reluctant bloomer. It seems to propagate mostly by the easily removed pads that move around on animals and occasionally humans. I know I've had them stuck to me several times. It is a very common coastal species."
