Shot: A plant. Photographer's note: "This is Appalachian bristle fern. It is very atypical looking for a fern. It only exist as tufts of threadlike gametophytes. The species reproduces by multicellular gemmae. I consider the species rare in Georgia. I look for it when I am in appropriate habitat and usually don't find it."
