Native Plants

Q. Who is Mr. Smarty Plants?
A: There are those who suspect Wildflower Center volunteers are the culpable and capable culprits. Yet, others think staff members play some, albeit small, role. You can torture us with your plant questions, but we will never reveal the Green Guru's secret identity.
Did you know you can access the Native Plant Information Network with your web-enabled smartphone?
Ask Mr. Smarty Plants is a free service provided by the staff and volunteers at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

Answered by: Nan Hampton
QUESTION:
I need a photo of Helianthus nuttallii. Can you help me?ANSWER:
Unfortunately, we don't have a photo of Helianthus nuttallii, Nuttall's Sunflower, in the Native Plants Database on the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center web page; but, you can find a photo in the USDA Plants Database that you can download. You can also find more photos on the Internet by "Googling" on 'Helianthus nuttallii' and then selecting "Images" from the menu at the top of the page.More Seed and Plant Sources Questions
