ANSWER:

Yes, Bouteloua dactyloides [synonym=Buchloe dactyloides] (buffalograss) is "one of the most nutritious of the prairie grasses" and "tolerates intense grazing pressure" according to Texas A&M AgriLIFE's Forages of Texas - North Central.
