Texas Arbor Day Celebration (FREE)

Get ready to celebrate live oaks (Quercus fusiformis), pecans (Carya illinoinensis) and cedar elms (Ulmus crassifolia) — Texas Arbor Day is Saturday, Nov. 5!

We’re offering FREE admission all day and special activities from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Texas Arbor Day Schedule

In addition to ongoing events like Fortlandia and Power the Migration: A Monarch Exhibition, Texas Arbor Day guests are invited to: 

9 a.m. Meet our friends from organizations like The Xerces Society, Travis Audubon, Austin Beautiful Trees, Girlstart in the Courtyard.

9:30 a.m. — Take a garden tour with Austin Beautiful Trees and learn about tree maintenance or attend our Winter Tree Pruning class (free class, preregistration not required).

10 a.m. — Learn to grow your own native tree at an extra-special Drop-in & Discover.

10 & 11 a.m. — Learn what it’s like to have a career as an arborist and explore the tools that they use with Bartlett Tree Experts in the Great Hall

10:30 a.m. — Tour the Center with Rick, one of our skilled Arborists.

11:30 a.m. — Take a garden tour with Austin Beautiful Trees and learn about the nature of wildfires.

1 p.m. — Learn how evolution influences the form and structure of trees at our Morphology of Oaks and Trees class (free class, preregistration not required)

1:30 p.m. — Take a garden tour with Austin Beautiful Trees and learn about oak wilt.
