We are proud to present the short film, “a seed a deer a seed,” by Marianne Hoffmeister Castro, this year’s St. Elmo Arts Fellow. This screening will take place in our Little House. Entry is free with the cost of general admission.

About the Exhibition

a seed a deer a seed is a short film that examines the Wildflower Center’s conservation efforts by threading together different imagery and visual registers, such as the tactility of the Center’s vegetation surveys, nocturnal footage of animals in the area, archival material from the herbarium, and fragments of conversations with Conservationist Botanist Minette Marr. Its focus on the care and management of a local ecosystem allows the film to highlight the alliances and challenges between plant, animal and human communities.
