Snakes might not top everyone’s list of favorite wildlife, but they’re some of the most fascinating and misunderstood creatures in Texas. Ready to rethink your relationship with these slithery neighbors? This hands-on workshop led by Brett Parker of Hill Country Snake Removal will help you swap fear for respect and give you practical tools to handle snake encounters with confidence.

Brett’s motto, “Kill the fear, not the snake,” says it all: Most snakes are harmless and vital to a healthy ecosystem, keeping rodent populations in check and contributing to biodiversity. Through live demonstrations, engaging information, and even a chance to safely handle a non-venomous snake, you’ll learn:

• How to identify common Texas snakes (venomous and non-venomous).
• The myths that fuel fear—and the facts that debunk them.
• How to recognize snake behavior and know what to do (or not do) when you encounter one.
• Proper pre-hospital care for venomous snake bites.
• Techniques for safe handling and containment.

This isn’t just about learning to avoid danger; it’s about appreciating the role these animals play in Texas’ unique landscapes. By the end of the class, you’ll feel equipped to face any snake situation calmly and responsibly.
