Winter Series: Nature Journaling in Watercolor

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is excited to announce a partnership with The Contemporary Austin Art School! Drawing and watercolor classes will be taught in our McDermott Learning Center, a beautifully restored 19th-century carriage house nestled in the gardens.

Let’s get out of the studio and experience nature! Using watercolors, sketching tools and art journals, students will observe their surroundings and document them. In this relaxing and introspective class, students can expect to learn strategies and for on-location painting, improved drawing ability, color mixing, and tips for creating aesthetically pleasing journal spreads. All skill levels welcome!

This class will take place in person at the Wildflower Center. Face masks are optional when attending this class. Please review our safety guidelines before your visit.

Thursdays, November 4 – December 16, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.*
