Native Plants to Dye For (POSTPONED)

In accordance with the CDC’s recommendations to practice social distancing during the evolving COVID-19 situation, all assembled group activities, including classes and upcoming events, are canceled or postponed through March 31. If you have questions or concerns about a class or program you have registered for, please email our education department. The Wildflower Center gardens and trails remain open presently and we encourage you to spend time recharging and relaxing in nature. Celebrate the spectacular colors of the season with your own plant-dyed fibers. Buff up your botany skills with a hands-on exploration of native plants that produce hues you can use.

Space is limited and registration is required.

Katy McCarthy

Katy McCarthy

Instructor

McCarthy was born in California and lives in Austin and Brooklyn. She received her MFA from Hunter College in 2017. Her work has been exhibited at Cluster Gallery; Sleep Center Gallery, New York; Flux Factory, LIC; Santa Barbara Contemporary Art Museum; Santa Barbara Museum of Art; Tiger Strike Asteroid, Los Angeles; Maxon Mills; and the Military Museum in Belgrade. In 2019, she held the St. Elmo Arts Residency at the University of Texas at Austin.
