Giant spiderwort, Tradescantia gigantea

Fruits and flowers everywhere, but not a bite to eat? Learn foraging skills and discover the native plants that are safe for your plate like prickly pear, purslane and spiderwort on this identifying and harvesting tour with an expert.

This class is offered Saturdays, March 31, April 28 and May 19, 9 a.m. – noon

Eric Knight was raised as a naturalist in Austin. He has taught classes on edible and useful plants both at the Austin Nature & Science Center and Earth Native Wilderness School and has studied herbalism at the Wildflower School of Botanical Medicine. He is also a co-founder and owner at Local Leaf where he wild-harvests, brews, and bottles Yaupon tea.
