|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 9:00 am on Tuesday and Thursday, repeating until February 22, 2018

Carolyn Long leading a guided tour during National Wildflower Week

Ever been on a tour at the Wildflower Center and been blown away by all the interesting things you learned? Ever thought how great it would be to spend time outdoors giving back to nature and helping inspire others to garden, conserve, learn and appreciate plants and ecosystems? We have just the opportunity for any aspiring docents, or anyone who wants to really dive into volunteering at the Center!

Docent training classes begin Feb. 6 and are held Tuesdays and Thursdays through February 22.

Docents are volunteer superstars who represent the Center and serve the public by answering questions, giving tours, working with children’s groups and serving as ambassadors to visitors from all over the world. They learn about native plants, Center history, gardening and more during training that combines classroom and field studies with self-scheduled experiential learning.
