Closed Terrarium Workshop – VIRTUAL

May 8, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

$45
Spring coralroot orchid
A glass jar with a lid, filled with rocks, soil and plants. It's a homemade terrarium.

Note: There are two versions of this workshop! If you’re looking for the youth-geared version, learn and register here.

Move over fussy house plants, there’s a new, low-maintenance, indoor gardening system in town. Introducing the closed system terrarium: a unique way to display your love of native plants while requiring minimal care on your end. In this virtual, hands-on workshop, you’ll create your own closed terrarium as you learn all about how the plants, soil and water work together, creating its own little ecosystem that can thrive in your home for years. So, bring the outside inside this spring with a new living centerpiece that everyone will love!

This workshop will include virtual hands-on instruction on how to construct your very own closed terrarium using native plants, just like this one, inside of a tall glass vessel, along with tips for maintenance and placement in your home. All materials and instructions are included with registration and will be available for contactless pick up the week prior to the workshop. Materials may be mailed to registrants living outside of Austin city limits for an additional fee.

This class is open to all gardening levels, no experience required.

Space is limited and registration is required. This class will take place online via Zoom.
Participants will receive an email with the link for the Zoom meeting prior to the event. Make sure you have Zoom installed and set up to participate.
