Bluebonnet Art With Alcohol Inks – VIRTUAL

Bring home the beauty of bluebonnets by learning new artistic techniques with alcohol inks. Learn about this unique medium as you create your own spring meadow scene featuring our state flower. The experienced artist Andrea Patton will be your guide on this artistic journey. Find out how alcohol inks can be used in beautifully blended color schemes, perfect for expressing nature’s many wonders.

This class is suggested for participants with intermediate skills. Previous acrylic and alcohol ink painting experience will be helpful.

Space is limited and registration is required. This virtual event will be held via Zoom. Participants will receive an email with the link for the Zoom meeting prior to the event. Make sure you have Zoom installed and set up to participate.

Supply List

  • 9×12” piece of Yupo or Nara paper cut in half for the class
  • 6 Q tips
  • Cotton balls
  • 4 brushes: 2 small; 1 medium; 1 large (½ to ¾ inches)
  • Isopropyl alcohol 91% or 99% (alcohol ink blending solution may also be used as a substitute)
  • Ranger inks in shades of black, green, yellow, blue, red and brown
  • Small plastic 6 well dish
  • Uni posca pen, fine point in white
  • Paper towels

Make sure that you have a well-ventilated space with open windows to paint in. Alcohol inks produce fumes that bother some, please wear a mask if this is the case for you. Alcohol inks also stain, wear a smock and gloves if you wish.
