Youth Solitary Bee Hotel Workshop – VIRTUAL (SOLD OUT)

April 10, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

$35
A wooden bee house or insect hotel with a corrugated steel shed behind it.
Bumblebee on fall obedient plant (Physostegia virginiana)

Note: There are two versions of this workshop! If you’re looking for the adult-geared version, learn and register here.

Bring native solitary bees to your garden with your own solitary bee hotel! Like all insects in the garden, solitary bees have three basic needs: food, water, and shelter. Many times gardens provide food such as pollinator-friendly plants and water from ponds or birdbaths but oftentimes are lacking in the most essential basic need, shelter. In this virtual hands-on workshop, both parents and youths will learn all about solitary bees as they work together to build a buzz-worthy solitary bee hotel.

This workshop will include virtual hands-on instruction on how to construct your very own bee hotel along with ideas for the ideal placement in your garden. All materials and instructions are included with registration and will be available for pick up the week prior to the workshop. Materials may be mailed to registrants for an additional fee.

Space is limited and registration is required. This class will take place online via Zoom.
Participants will receive an email with the link for the Zoom meeting prior to the event. Make sure you have Zoom installed and set up to participate.
