Austin is well known for its bat colonies that reside in buildings, under bridges and in caves. This spring, join a trained guide with Bat Conservation International for an exclusive guided experience scanning the evening skies of the Wildflower Center for bats. Using an Echo Meter and a smartphone, guides will show you the ins and outs of bat tracking and teach you how to identify local bat species as you learn about the importance of bats in our community and threats to their survival. If you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the bats leaving Wildflower Cave as they depart on their nightly adventure!
This guided tour is open to bat-enthusiasts of all ages. Space is limited and registration is required.
