Instagram post 2316986083299539235_1134410758 #BetterTogether — Athena’s recently fledged owlets have been spotted hanging out together — and not too far from their former nest — by bird-watcher and great-horned guardian, Bill J Boyd. Young owlets have been observed sticking together throughout the summer while they are learning to hunt (w/meals being supplemented by mom & dad). Perhaps thinking about being in solidarity with the beloved owl family will help as we all stay close to home this season. #thatsowlfornow #bubo
Instagram post 2314824987566150139_1134410758 Spring’s first round of wildflowers have gone to seed, but the blooms don’t stop in Central Texas and there’s a lot to love and learn beyond just bluebonnets. There are so many flowers to see at the Center right now and every week looks a little different! We’re glad to be able to share the beauty with you IRL (ticket reservations at link in bio) as we open to the public (with limited capacity) beginning tomorrow. Of course, we’ll keep sharing the wonderful world of native plants with you here too. That’s what we do 🌿📸: rock penstemon (Penstemon baccharifolius) by Jon Merz

In addition to those pretty poufs of petals, their scent can really elevate a sew-sew day 🧵 😄 They’re a good nectar source but rabbits will eat the plants too 🌿🐇💕 #rabbitfood #pollinatorgarden #nativeplants #txwildflowers2020
