ABOUT THE LUCI AND IAN FAMILY GARDEN
Since 2014, the Luci and Ian Family Garden has provided countless opportunities for our youngest visitors to learn about nature through play. From a kid-sized wildlife blind to a flowing creek with dinosaur footprints, the 4.5-acre space offers more than a dozen interactive and educational features made of natural materials. Designed by landscape architect W. Gary Smith, the Family Garden is a model of sustainable landscaping and has received numerous accolades, including a 2-star rating from the Sustainable Sites Initiative and the prestigious Award for Garden Excellence from Horticulture Magazine. This imaginative space was made possible by the generosity of Ian Turpin and Luci Baines Johnson, the younger daughter of Lady Bird and President Lyndon Baines Johnson.
