Join Director of Research and Consulting, Dr. Mark Simmons, for a one hour live webinar on Urban Lawns and Meadows and learn how to regenerate ecology in our cities using what we've learned from our HABITURF and Green Roofs research.

Creating sustainable lawns and prairies is a going to be an important component of the cities of the future. As humans become a more urban species, the health of the urban population and the environmental health of the city and its regional impact, will become more dependent on the design and use of urban green space. The increased attention on landscapes as resource sinks for water and fossil fuels as well as potential point sources of pollution have demonized lawns, campuses and parks. In this informative webinar we demonstrate through research, field examples and "how tos" how grassland systems including backyards parks and restored urban prairies can be designed ecologically to become essential sustainable landscape features that are still the enjoyable outdoor spaces we expect. Apply this scientific know how to your own backyard and community green spaces to create a healthier and more sustainable environment.

The Wildflower Center is excited to pilot this new series of Go Native U online lunchtime seminars focused on native plant gardening, botany and sustainable landscaping.

To participate, you only need to register and pay $25 for non-members and $15 for members. A high-speed internet connection is required to view the webinar. Access to an archived recording will be available to participants within 48 hours of the live webinar. This is an online webinar that you can participate in from the comfort of your own home.
