Background: Whether your loved ones enjoy photography, jewelry, nature books or special teas, the Wildflower Center is the perfect place to shop for holiday gifts the first weekend in December. Enjoy free admission and special merchandise discounts daily. On Friday, which honors the Austin Junior League, general gifts will be 20 percent off. Holiday ornament singings will occur from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and truffle tasting from 1 to 3 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, artists and artisans will display their wares, including watercolors, holiday apparel, handmade soaps, and limestone products. Saturday honors University of Texas at Austin faculty, staff, and exes, and includes three nature book signings in the store. Kelly Bender will sign “Texas Wildscapes” from noon to 3 p.m. And from 1 to 4 p.m., Lance Allred signs “Enchanted Rock” and Jim Stanley signs “Hill Country Landowners Guide.” Store visitors on Sunday enjoy Franz porcelein jewelry specials and Michael Michaud jewelry show, as well as 20 percent off apparel. From 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. that day, Greg Lawson signs “Star Struck: Texas Impressions,” while artist Julia Webber is on hand from 1 to 4 p.m. to sign her newly released Wildflower Days™ 2010 poster.
