Join the festivities at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, TX. Look for great events, unusual gifts, store discounts, book signings and more!
These events are planned for the holiday season of 2009:
Holiday Gift Preview. The store features Shou Ping's amazing paper sculpture by artist Shou Ping. Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22.
Wild Ideas Shopping Event. Free admission, special discounts in the store and a weekend full of artists and artisans. On Friday, December 4, stop by Jo Pollock's annual ornament signing party from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and enjoy Chef Keem's newest chocolate truffles from 1 to 3 p.m. A 20 percent off general gifts. On Saturday, December 5, book signings by Kelly Bender, author of Texas Wildscapes, from 12 to 3 p.m., Lance Allred, author of Enchanted Rock, from 1 to 4 p.m., and Jim Stanley, author of Hill Country Landowners Guide, from 1 to 4 p.m. A 20 percent off books. On Sunday, December 6, 20 percent off apparel, the Michael Michaud jewelry show, Franz porcelain jewelry specials and the Kitty Keller bluebonnet ornament special.
Luminations. Come see thousands of luminaries and twinkling lights in the gardens. Free admission with canned food or a donation to the Capital Area Food Bank. Music, crafts for the kids, refreshments and holiday shopping from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, and Sunday, December 13.
