A compact, densely branched, ghostly white-woolly shrub with deep bluish-violet to violet, bilaterally symmetrical flowers.
This plant’s conspicuous white wool probably serves to reflect heat and reduce the effect of the strong drying winds that sweep through the hot canyons much of the year. It is protected by law and should not be picked.
