USDA Symbol: LEPY
USDA Native Status: L48 (N), AK (N), CAN (N)
A dense roundish cluster of tiny white to pinkish flowers atop an erect, nearly leafless stalk growing from a basal rosette of leaves.
This is the only species in the genus. Its dark green, persistent foliage and rusty red fruits that mature from the flowers make it an attractive plant. It has pistils totally separate from one another; similar species of Saxifraga usually have pistils joined to one another for at least 20 percent of their length or joined to the calyx for a similar distance.
