Native Habitat: Scattered on stream banks in wet places from Edwards Plateau and Llano area west to the Trans-Pecos; OK and west TX south to Coahuila.

Conditions Comments: Showy butter yellow flowers open late afternoon or early evening, making it a great addition to a night-time garden. Plants are vase shaped overall and tall, so a location in the back of a bed is appropriate. Propagate by seed in well drained soil. Provide regular or high summer water.
